Project Eleven

Collide

I recently had to take off my wedding ring.

The finger was swollen and needed a bit of attention, so I took it off to provide care and a little first aid.

But as I looked at the reddened finger an idea struck me.

The year by year wearing of the ring had shaped and formed the finger. The constant gentle pressure of wearing the ring had left its mark.

And so it dawned on me as the words formed in my mind…Love leaves a mark.

I remember some lyrics from many years ago that explore this sentiment further.

It would be incredible if we could
Retrace all the times that we lived here
All the collisions
” (IV. Perimeter walk from Blind Curve by Marillion)

Each of us has been shaped by the collisions of life, the people, the places, the circumstances that we live through. In this project I will explore these events to consider the stories that make us and break us.

Are you ready to collide?
